Turn one task into a visible list of steps

The Steps tool in Skillberry Visuals lets adults represent the parts of a routine with visuals. Use pictures and labels to show the order of actions within a task on iPhone or iPad.

Show the actions inside a routine

A schedule might include an activity called Pack my bag. A step-by-step task visual can show what that means: put in a folder, add a lunchbox, add a water bottle, and close the bag. Adapt the list to the actual task and the person's needs.

Task analysis means identifying the smaller actions within a task. Skillberry provides a place to represent those actions visually; the adult or professional creates the sequence. The app does not automatically assess abilities, write a clinical plan, or verify mastery.

Make each step recognizable

Use familiar pictures and concise labels for each action. Library images and personal photos let you represent the objects and places in your routine. Keep the sequence as detailed as needed for the setting, and revise it when the task changes.

Skillberry's public release history includes the Steps list view. Check your installed app and plan for available layouts, completion controls, and customization options.

Match the visual to the question

Use Steps when the question is what to do within one activity. Use Schedule when the question is which activity comes next. Use First Then when a two-part sequence is enough. All three belong to the same visual-support toolkit, but organize information differently.

Prepare task visuals for everyday settings

Parents, caregivers, special education teachers, RBTs, and other professionals can create visuals for familiar tasks at home, school, or in a clinic. Examples on this page illustrate the tool; they do not promise independence or any measured outcome.
